How to create a LinkedIn account with Non VoIP numbers
If you have an online presence that leans towards the job-seeking field, you’ve probably heard of the well-known and established online service LinkedIn. This platform is so widely used that it’s known as the benchmark for professional online networking with an outstanding number of more than 774 million registered users from all over the world as of September 2021.
Due to the pandemic, many people saw themselves in the position to get a job or change the one they already had. However, this had to be done online due to the restrictions and parameters of COVID-19 brought out, which is why many have opted to create their online business or find remote job positions on LinkedIn.
One of LinkedIn’s big pro is that this platform is not only for those searching for jobs remotely. You can find jobs from anywhere near you; it can work as an online CV for both recruiters and employees, to network with important companies, and to build your own brand. Which really comes in handy these days.
This app is useful to both employees and employers. In order to use it, they need to create an account in which they can connect and interact with others in a professional relationship, same as in real life, but this time it’s done online. LinkedIn comes with useful applications and great opportunities, it helps to gain exposure to candidates, which helps recruiters find and hire workers more easily. It can be used on almost all devices, and it also works as a social media tool. What else can we ask for?
If used well, you can show your knowledge, expertise and credibility by optimizing your LinkedIn profile, that way presenting yourself as a reliable worker and with that, increasing your chances of getting hired. Because of this, LinkedIn can be seen as an online CV where people can find you, review your professional portfolio and hire you. Or, on the other hand, you can recruit people based on their profile, job expertise, and qualities, to work for you or your company.
However, LinkedIn has its downsides. Primarily, this platform has received backlash and criticism for spamming, because LinkedIn sends out “Invite emails” to Outlook contacts from the email accounts of its members, the company does this without their consent, which is the reason most people are upset about it. In case of not answering the invitation, the email user will receive a follow-up mail reminding them to answer it. This reminder will be sent several times.
Regarding cybersecurity, there was an incident known as the “2012 LinkedIn hack”, in which about how 6.4 million LinkedIn users’ passwords were stolen and then published, allowing other people online to see your personal information and to use it how they wanted. This, of course, caused a lot of backlashes and due to this LinkedIn added two-factor authentication as a prevention method.
There were also some claims made by the German Stiftung Warentest in which they criticized the balance of rights between users and the company, where the rights of the first one are very restricted, while rights of the company are favored.
Apart from all of this, LinkedIn is still a very powerful tool that should be used to its fullest, as an employer and employee, and one of the greatest pros is that being active in the platform doesn’t mean you’ll have to be glued to your screen searching for jobs, you can still use this site to connect with others and link with others through networking events and conferences.
